Pudsey says “Thank You”

Bexhill Lions Club would like to thank everybody who donated to the Children in Need collections last Friday and Saturday.

Organiser Colin Rands said “In spite of some terrible weather the residents of Bexhill generously donated a total of £569.71 to this appeal. I would also like to thank Lions members and Friends of Bexhill Lions for braving the elements whilst out collecting.”

Members of Bexhill Lions Club will be at the station on Friday 13th November and around town out on Saturday 14th November, collecting for the BBC Children in Need ,whose vision is that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood and the chance to reach their potential.

Money raised in previous years is helping initiatives here in East Sussex. Such as RISE(Refuge, Information, Support and Education) which provides one to one, group work and family work for 360 children and young people who have experienced domestic violence, to improve resilience, safety and family relationships.

Also benefiting from the public donations is the Hastings and Rother Mediation Service. This provides mediation to young people with behavioural difficulties and their families. It enables them to gain better family relationships, improve communication skills and enhance emotional well-being.

As in the last four years, the Bexhill Lions will be rattling their collecting buckets to support groups such as these, as well as individuals in need of help and support from Children in Need.

Event organiser Colin Rands said “In their Hi Viz jackets and Lions capes, these champions of those in need, hope local residents will be as generous as they have been in previous years. Just a small donation can make a huge difference to peoples’ lives and every penny raised will help disadvantaged children
