Bexhill Lions Club is supporting the Bexhill Skatepark Action Group (BSAG) by providing financial and practical support. Sue Cassell who heads up the Youth committee said “We are committed to supporting youth activities in Bexhill and having seen a press report about the state of the existing skatepark site we decided we wanted to help. We met with Harry Harmer and were very impressed with his enthusiasm and were delighted to be invited to work with the group.”

Christine Bayliss who chairs BSAG explained that the aims of the group were to ensure the existing skatepark at Downs Road is maintained so it is safe for users and to campaign for the skatepark to be rebuilt and relocated when the Downs Road site is redeveloped.

A competition, sponsored by The Source Park in Hastings, was recently launched to find a winning logo design. This was won by Tyler Vacher who received a £50 voucher and 10 complimentary sessions at The Source Park, together with a certificate from Bexhill Lions. Bexhill brothers Rich and Marc Moore founded the The Source Park and are keen to support BSAG in any way they can.

Discussions are underway with Rother District Council and it is hoped to be discussed at Cabinet when a way forward can be agreed.
