Bexhill Lions Club has announced its second Junior Peace Poster competition, with three Primary Schools already entering; Glenleigh, Little Common and St Mary Magdalene. There is still time to get involved so please contact Lion Sue at or call her on 07791 940687.

Sue, Head of the Youth Committee commented “We want to encourage young people to artistically express their vision of peace and what peace means. It’s an opportunity to encourage the young people in our community to think and talk about the importance of peace, tolerance and understanding.  It also gives them an outlet for self expression that can be shared with their friends, family and class mates.”

Last years’ competition was enthusiastically welcomed and declared a great success. The winner was Safiye Balaban from Little Common Primary School.

Sue added that it was not just open to schools but also to youth groups. Children must be aged 8, 9 or 10 by 31st August 2017.

Participants can use a variety of mediums including charcoal, crayon, pencil and paint to spark their imagination and express the theme “My Peaceful World “.

The closing date for entries is 1ST March 2017 and full details can be obtained from Sue at or by phoning 07791 940687. Bexhill Lions will provide the art paper.
